Large-Scale Roll-Out of Smart Glasses, Lee Company Standardizes on Wearable Technology Solutions for Remote Support, Training and Documentation, Customer Communications and Transparency and Improving Operational Efficiencies and Workflow
XOEye Technologies, a leading enterprise wearables solutions company that is reshaping industrial business processes and data capture, and its smart glasses partner Vuzix® Corporation(NASDAQ: VUZI), a leading supplier of video eyewear and smart glasses products in the consumer, enterprise and entertainment markets, today announced the successful commercial roll-out of wearable technology with Lee Company, a $150 million comprehensive residential and commercial heating, cooling, appliance and facilities solutions company. Vuzix, XOEye and Lee Company will be at CES® 2016 this week in Las Vegas showcasing the solution in booth #14048 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
XOEye is initially providing Lee Company with 500 Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses bundled with XOEye's custom applications, including telepresence, and its proprietary, cloud-based Vision® platform for their field service technicians remote work environments and for internal stakeholders. The solution facilitates real-time communications for its technicians, provides attachable video-to-electronic service tickets and greater transparency to its customers, enables real-time remote support and access to subject matter experts, and creates additional daily workflow enhancements to Lee Company's internal and field services teams across the region.
"Lee Company is truly a first-mover with its unprecedented commitment to wearable technology as a change agent within their organization and extended to their customers," said XOEye Technologies CEO, Aaron Salow. "We are excited about this initial roll-out and stand ready to support Lee Company's operational transition to wearables with XOEye's integration into their existing workflow."
"XOEye's wearable solutions and data analytics and Vuzix' M100 Smart Glasses have transformed the way our field service personnel interact with each other and our customers every day across all critical service sectors including hospitals and other 24/7 critical companies who require quick resolve and cannot tolerate extended downtime due to lengthy and costly repair times," said Richard Perko, President of Lee Company. "The business case to standardize on XOEye and Vuzix' solutions across our business is clear — the solution provides greater employee retention especially for our mature workers, greater transparency with our prospects and customers, and increased operational efficiencies. There is a tremendous amount of excitement for this roll-out at Lee Company. The service industry has remained unchanged in terms of operational process for 50 years. With wearables Lee Company is going to be well positioned as a sophisticated technology-led service leader in the region."
The videos and data collected on a daily basis from the field technicians are shared internally as a training resource on Lee Company's service support library. The support center significantly improves training hours and empowers employees with mission-critical information to complete their job in the most efficient time, saving the company a number of service-hours per week.
"Our partnership with XOEye continues to advance with successful smart glasses implementations with progressive companies like Lee Company who are a great example of how wearables are operationally transforming the enterprise," said Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vuzix. "We're excited to be a partner in their continued success."
